Abstract:
This article considers the legal conflicts related to intellectual property rights in the pharmaceutical andbiotechnology industry. The first part of the paper uses the event study methodology to assess the impact ofthese conflicts on the market value of the litigants. In the second part, we consider several distinctive featuresof these conflicts as well as the litigation and settlement strategies followed by opponents.
