La régulation des transferts de fonds de migrants, vers un régime international ?

Marie Coiffard ()

Post-Print from HAL

Abstract: This article suggests to analyze what seems to be the first steps toward an international regime on workers' remittances (WR), in an International Political Economy perspective. In the last few years, WR have become one of the most important sources of foreign exchange for many developing countries. Thus, WR are now considered as both a national issue and an international issue, as this topic is more and more taken into account by multilateral and regional Organizations. Thus, the question is to know if the cooperation that seems to appear at an international level can be considered as the composition of an international regime, since a new international consensus on WR is rising. The study of its objectives and its related costs leads us to analyze this new cooperation as an attempt to build an actual international regime on WR.
