Abstract:
Ten years after Hong Kong's retrocession to China, the traditional Triads, in partnership with other Chinesecriminal organizations, have broadened their field of intervention on a worldwide basis. This is partly due toglobalization and Western Europe is one of their key targets. The modus operandi of those «transnational criminal groups» in France and elsewhere is better understoodwhen one studies the origins and traditional rites of those secret societies deeply rooted in China's history.Simultaneously, describing their current activities naturally leads to assessing the major problems faced by securityagencies in the battle against Chinese organized crime.
