Abstract: Management is developing in the voluntary sector. Such organizations evolve either through internally decided or externally imposed changes. How do volunteers cope with these changes? The aftermaths of two changes in a network of French family associations are studied: a reduction in working time, followed by a change of collective agreement. Organizational changes, performance, and the evolution towards the professionnalization of volunteers are linked. Some proposals help excorting the ineluctable professionnalization of volunteers.
