Abstract: This contribution was built around the first results of a global research project on the way of piloting the sustainable development and the management of small and medium-sized firms. In a first part, will be presented the main approaches of questions connected with the social responsibility of the company. In a second part, a statement of the international references, on the domain, in terms of management will be presented. This section will give place to a more specific statement of the SD 21000 guide - developed by the Afnor - proposing a methodology of autodiagnosis of the priority sustainable development stakes for the company. Finally, in the third part, a dashboard composed of stakes making the synthesis of the main themes in connection with the management and the corporate social responsibility of companies will be proposed.
