Abstract:
In Jiangsu Province, Yangtze River Valley, the use of Bt-cotton is almost generalized while it induces little specific profitability gain. To explain this paradox, two factors so far little considered are proposed: synergy of Bt-cotton with preexisting production techniques, phenomenon called technological integration and which has been enhanced by a remarkable development of variety and seed sectors.
