Abstract: Positioning human resource management experts in clinics : an exploratory study based on the findings of two human resource directors For the past 30 years, there have been successive reforms in the United States, Canada and most European countries to turn these organizations into productive companies. The changes which were undertaken with an economic rationalization in mind have resulted in modifying working conditions and the kinds of tasks performed by health care professionals. In this context, what are the courses of action undertaken by the human resource directors and the members of their teams to ensure that the employees in the clinics accept the modifications to their jobs? The answer to that question will be seen by studying two lines of reasoning from two human resource directors in private hospital groups who describe their experiences and the limitations of their actions.
