Abstract: The aim of this article is to propose new elements allowing to support validity criteria in anti positivist epistemologies. Sameness between pragmatism and interpretativism or constructivism (i.e relativism and the priority for action), conduct to underline the relevance of « truth as adequation » notion. We clarify the different manners whose pragmatism philosophers have declined the « truth as adequation » in validity criteria. That provides new discussions about validity criteria in organizational research. Thus we underline that idea of the truth as adequation allows to classify knowledge produced ; provides a production of knowledge more normative than descriptive and invites the researcher to lead an ethical interrogation of this knowledge project.
