Abstract:
Gazelles constitute both a theoretical and an economic issue. Thanks to a comparative study of five high growth small businesses located in Rhône-Alpes and Provence (France), the authors propose a processual analysis of high growth trajectories. These could be various, but present three common features: voluntary, independent and self-confident managers; the geographic articulation of the center and the periphery; the late, but rapid functional structuring.
