Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to highlight the strategic intent of creating value for innovative companies in a hyper competitive industry, more particularly in the case of Smartphones. By mobilizing the theories of dynamic capabilities and market efficiency, this work explores a new way of thinking about innovation and research leadership by competing firms. Through a measure of efficiency and market models, we observe that some companies have interests in combining resources and diverse expertise (technology, image, marketing, legal actions, ...) to obtain a dominant position favored by investors and allowing them to be stabilized in the positive reaction to events. We conclude that value creation is based essentially on the combination of leadership in innovation and breaking image.
