Abstract: In this article we propose to revisit the China of April 2008 and ponder on one major event that happened that year: the boycott of the Carrefour stores which resulted in a unprecedented display of demonstrations and protests. After having proposed an original theoretical framework (the information cascade), we move on to carry out a detailed reading of this case in order to learn from it and have a better understanding of current crises.
