Abstract: This article features a global picture of Latin American studies in the Netherlands, based on five axes the national context, the place that Latin Americanism has within the national academia, the thematic priorities, the economic resources, and the existing organizations and publications. Based on the above mentioned axes, the author comes to conclusions and perspectives for the future of Latin American studies in the Netherlands.
