Abstract:
"Think Global but Act Local" seems to be nowadays the perfect right expression that translates the process of elaboration and implementation of economic policies. The territory is therefore regarded as an effective level of production's organization and decision-making that requires an appropriate management of collective interests, while taking into consideration individual interests. This type of management is called territorial governance. In this article, we tackle the case of wine production in the Bekaa valley (Lebanon), a region that seems to constitute an "emerging territory", since it has favorable natural conditions and an involved human community. Wine sector in Lebanon in general, and in Bekaa in particular faces problems highly related to the types of management implemented, and that could be solved through new and more appropriate territorial governance.
