Abstract:
Europe, this region stretching from the Atlantic coast to Russia sees the twenty-first century practice new rivalries for power. The study recent first presupposes an accurate knowledge of geography and recent history of Europe, made of division, reunification and dissension. Understanding geopolitical parameters of Europe also requires decryption of the European Union, its assets, its contradictions and weaknesses. But it also involves the analysis of other European countries, those candidates to the European Union, and those who refuse it, not to mention the battles for the "spoils" of the former Soviet Union, such as the Ukraine. Battles callers to understand the strategy of a para-doxical Russia, but in search of power. This book is enriched with numerous maps and figures and a geographical index. It is essential for all those who care about the future, including through new geopolitical prospective scenarios that shake the meninges.
