Economics and Demography: Original Sin
Economie-démographie: le péché originel

Abstract:
At the heart of the evolution of societies is thus a permanent cohabitation between economics and demography. No cohabitation would leave express individualism of both, but, on the contrary, cohabitation equivalent to indissoluble marriage for better and for worse. Historical background will initially be remembered that reality. Then it will be necessary to ask why is it so often ignored? The answer lies in the original sin of economics, committed by one who is generally considered the father of economists, Adam Smith. Finally, contemporary examples illustrate how this original sin always has negative consequences in the analysis of today.
