Abstract: From the example of home care, this paper deals with the ambivalence of the role of associations in recognition of wage labour. Within theoretical contributions of the economics of convention and the sociology of social recognition and rankings, the aim of this paper is to understand how qualification, in this sector, testifies a "misunderstanding" of wage labour and skills, as Honneth does. This ignorance is rooted in the specifics of the associative labour, but also in the process of gender differentiation, understood as a system of social classification. The consequence is a contribution not only to the reproduction of gender system through the casualization of these woman's jobs, but also the erosion of the system of rights and protections, historically correlated to the qualification.
