Abstract:
The specialists of Pareto's economic and sociological writings, underline that his theory of action is based on a drastic division between logical actions and non-logical ones; the first referring to economic activities and the second to sociological relationships. Some kinds of actions will be considered as logical because the agent justifies himself on logical reasoning and not on moral sentiments or usual custom practices. In this paper, it is shown that Pareto's distinction cannot be easily sustained in the light of more recent conceptions of rationality.
