Abstract:
This paper shows the value of web proxies to forecast market trends. Relatively easy to collect and inexpensive, these metrics offer the ability to quickly analyze consumers' interest towards specifics trends, products or brands while avoiding claimed overstatement bias. Overall, these measures appear to be good indicators of in market trends.
