Abstract:
This work focuses on the conducting phase of action research and is based on diverse researcher's experiences to discuss the principles and the difficulties raised by this methodology. Co construction requires a consensus between actors and researchers difficult to achieve and maintain over time. The relevance of the research action is challenged by suspicions of lack of rigor and generalization capabilities. Ethically, information and informed consent rules are impossible to respect while confidentiality is suffering from deductive revelations. Relations between actors and researchers in the process vary between individuals and over time between trust, distrust and manipulation. The contributions of this paper is to illustrate with practical and concrete experiences the potential but also the limitations of action research.
