La visione riduttiva dell'economia nelle scienze sociali

Francesco Magris and Antoine Parent

Post-Print from HAL

Abstract: Relying on the article "The Superiority of Economists" by Fourcade, Ollion and Algan, published in the «Journal of Economic Perspectives» in 2015, we question the reductive vision of economics, as conveyed in Social Sciences. Without exhibiting any heterodox complacency against neoclassical analysis, we argue that economics is not built against history, nor against complexity and cannot ignore the history of economic thought. We provide evidence that since at least half a century, developments in economics have not entailed a paradigmatic rupture, but have broaden its fields of interest by including history, complexity and the history of economic thought.
