Abstract:
From participatory-built indicators to urban politics: Comments on alternative indicators on the French city of Grenoble. This paper is a reflexive problematized analysis of an alternative quantification experiment in the French city of Grenoble. Even if the participatory indicators-making process questions the methodological backgrounds of quantification, their concrete uses still depend on urban politics and ratio of powers that underpin urban policy-making. According to this, we notably insist on the structural influence and hegemony of market-friendly indicators on urban governments.
