Abstract: This study examines the effect of cultural diversity related to nationality on team performance in the North American Basketball League (NBA). Controlling for managerial capacity, the quality and the heterogeneity of players, we find that there is no significant relationship between nationality diversity and team performance. This result does not reflect positive or negative effects of the cultural diversity related to nationality as suggested by the literature (Harrison et Klein, 2007). In fine, we neither confirm nor deny the " business case of diversity " (Robinson et Dechant, 1997).
