Abstract:
The segmentation of employees appears at f irst sight to be a technical act that makes it possible to form homogeneous groups, so as to apply rules adapted to the management intent. Mobilizing data from a survey analyzing interviews with 33 managers, the article identif ies new criteria for segmentation (in particular generation and talent) that replace the traditional criteria of job classif ication and qualification of individuals. It then analyzes the discursive strategies by which this operation is legitimized and the effects they produce.
