Abstract: "How do the activities of a Club d'investisseurs pour une gestion alternative et locale de l'épargne solidaire (investors' club for a local and alternative management of solidarity savings), Cigales, fit the theoretical and practical aspects of a commons ? Based on the work of Elinor Ostrom and her followers, this article describes the intangible resource that unites investors in Cigales clubs, analyses their rights and obligations, and shows that a Cigales can be set up as a self-managed voluntary organisation subject to applicable laws. Through a survey conducted in Greater Lyon, the second part shows how members follow implicit and explicit rules to achieve their funding goals. The commons ethos continues with the joint support of projects by groups of clubs and the pooling of members' rights."
