Abstract:
The establishment of the official Quartier de la Création in 2011 marks the cultural and then creative turn taken by Nantes in order to assert itself as an attractive metropolis. This flagship of the "creative city" has not, however, led to the disappearance of the city's historic creative quarter: the Olivettes district. Two "creative" quarters therefore coexist in an original way within the same city, one carried by the institution ("in"), the other claiming on the contrary its independence ("off").
