Abstract: This article is supported by an ethnographical research realized on the field of the mining projects in New-Caledonia, exemplary ground of observation of the cultural misunderstanding engendered by the western and continental representations applied to Oceania. Its subject is to revisit, with regard to this context, communications tools developed by the ICMM, a professional organization grouping the major international companies in the mine and metal industry field, to which adheres two of the mining companies operating in New-Caledonia. We shall be take special interest to the relational approach promoted by the ICMM for the implementation of globalised rules in the Corporate Social Responsibility. Questioning the relevance and the coherence of the standardized and globalized approaches, we shall enlighten the interest of taking into account the local dynamics in the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility policies within international companies operating in Océanie.
