Abstract:
The authors discuss the economic factors underlying the relations between Switzerland and EU. They highlight the role played by a long-term guiding thread of Swiss European policy, namely the desire to benefit from economic integration while at the same time avoiding as much as possible institutional and political constraints, which has led the country towards a path of "integration without membership''.
