Abstract: The first research paper explored the state of the art on Lyon fairs and the main sources used by old (Brésard, Gascon) and recent scholarly investigations (Gaulin & Rau, Pallini-Martin, Matringe). The paper highlighted the new methodology that CoMOR is applying to the topic: on the one hand the network approach to markets and fairs, focusing on the economic and social relationships between merchants, on the other the analysis of a wide range of sources, ranging from the accounting books of fairs to almanacs, merchant manuals, notarial registers, and the numerous Lyon administrative sources.
