Abstract:
China has defined an ambitious internationalisation strategy leading to the development of land, sea, air and even digital interconnections in order to facilitate and boost its exchanges by mobilising its financial and industrial resources. The Mediterranean is covered by this project due to its geopolitical situation, its investment needs and the importance of its markets. Thierry Pairault and Xavier Richet, in this study, focus on Chinese economic presence and on the assessment of Sino-Mediterranean economic relations, then expose China's maritime ambitions before presenting more specifically regional overviews.
