Abstract: This contribution in political economy crosses reflections on sustainability, mainly focused on the environmental field, with the practices of social and solidarity economy organisations. It attemps to show how the now well dichotomy between weak and strong sustainability could contribute to the characterisation of two "ideal-types" in the field of social and solidarity economy. To do so, it proposes an extension of the strong/weak sustainability framework to social issues. The specificity of "the human" comes in addition to the specificity of the goods and services provided by nature.
