Abstract: This paper focuses on the recurring defects in doctoral students' productions during their thesis process. While the literature, particularly through books, regularly discusses thesis development guides and methodology, it is rare that scientific articles analyze concrete feedback concerning the production defects of PhD students during the thesis or DBA (Doctorate Business in Administration) process. Our analysis is based on feedback from 14 years' experience, including 10 years as moderator, of a monthly doctoral seminar. The written capitalization of comments from the researcher, other doctoral students and other teacher-researchers, cross-referenced with other experiences during tutorials and colloquia, reveals more or less recurrent shortcomings during the thesis process. In view of the stakes involved in completing a thesis in 3 years, and the dysfunctional elements that can follow the doctor throughout his or her career, we thought it would be interesting to analyze these defects. This analysis can help doctoral students and those who supervise them to better prevent these various defects and facilitate understanding of the expectations of theses.
