Abstract:
The growth of an organisation in its early stages is not linear. Its development takes it through successive stages, with the transition from one stage to another occurring discontinuously, during times of crisis. Consulting work with these organisations generally takes advantage of these moments of imbalance, which are both times when concern prompts the organisation to seek outside help and when the fragility of the existing structure maximises the impact of the intervention. Observing these situations of transition from one state of equilibrium to another leads to identifying and describing the role of the consultant as a transmitter.
