Abstract:
This abstract presents an interdisciplinary circular economy model developed within the PLASTRON project to combat marine plastic pollution in Mediterranean coastal communities. Our model is based on the coordinated action of local municipalities and environmental associations. We develop utility functions capturing the tradeoffs between moral incentives, economic subsidies, and mechanical recycling constraints. Inspired by data from pilot sites in Corsica and Sardinia, the model evaluates pathways from waste recovery to localized 3D printing, offering a scalable framework for sustainable territorial waste management.
