Le développement durable, la recherche et les entreprises: les conditions d'une synergie

Olivier Godard

Working Papers from HAL

Abstract: Scientific research cannot help but being concerned by sustainable development: new questions are to be addressed, new objects in relation to the issue of integration are to be studied, and new practices of research have to arise. Generally speaking sustainable development implies both new screening mechanisms regarding the dissemination of new technologies, in order to ensure their compatibility with a careful management of technological risks, and new and strong impulses to tackle serious challenges such as a 75% abatement of French CO2 emissions by year 2050. Initiatives coming from various sides (business, local authorities, NGOs) are welcome but should take place in a globally coherent framework that public authorities have a duty to set-up.
