Abstract: This article deals with perception and acceptance of design applied to fruits and vegetables. The aim of this research is to measure the impact of incongruency level of related to color and / or shape on acceptance by consumers. Sensory tests are performed on two products, orange and tomato. The main results show that : 1/ the more the product is incongruent, the more it is perceived as genetically modified and the less it is preferred, 2/ design influences aesthetic preference and worry which themselves influence intention to eat, 3/ color change is perceived as more worrying than shape change.
