Working Papers from HAL

Abstract: Processed expertise report on the organization of the Grand Paris 2025 world expo with Toulouse as a "satellite" city. We offer a geohistorical justification through the history, economy and geography of the major regional exhibitions of the 19th and early 20th centuries. We demonstrate the legitimacy of our regional metropolis, through its history, its sector of aeronautical and space excellence (industry), the men and women of the employment area. To this end, a tourist city is offered to visitors, more sustainable through transport and innovations in leisure, science, knowledge which are more accessible and a return to the natural interfaces of the city. To this end, it is necessary to take into account the notion of road, path, memory and spirit of places through the museum and the Aéropostale runway in Toulouse, a changing district in Montaudran, recalling similarities with Highway 86 and the roads of Vancouver to discover the international exposition - exhibition. The staging and narrative of the metropolis through the idea of track, of path is emerging. If in Osaka 1970, world expo, Kenzo Tange built a central pavilion, a crossing point and receptacle for all the themes, they carried out an original classification using color schemes (color code) that a good number of subsequent exhibitions would take into account. It's up to us to take inspiration from this for our front doors. The idea of the Piste des Géants path offers Toulouse, with a wider spectrum and interactive doors too, a way to mix and reconcile visitors, desires and the vision of a city of science and innovation.
