Abstract: This chapter empirically analyzes the relationship between governance and inclusive growth in five North African countries over the period 1996–2017. Using a dynamic panel model and the GMM method, it shows that trade openness significantly promotes inclusive growth, while the effects of governance indicators are more mixed. Certain dimensions, such as political stability or regulation, have an unexpected or limited impact. The results highlight the importance of coherent, legitimate, and well-implemented governance. The study calls for sustainable institutional reforms tailored to local realities to strengthen equitable development.
