Abstract: Since its emergence in the 1960s, the computable general equilibrium model has experienced remarkable growth, becoming one of the most widely used tools in the world for studying, analyzing, and simulating public policies and economic transformations. However, in developing countries such as Morocco, its use remains limited due to the small number of experts, the difficulty of mastering the model, and the lack of pedagogical books devoted to it. When such works do exist, they are often highly academic in nature, making them difficult for beginners to understand, while also neglecting the practical dimension of programming. This book seeks to fill these gaps. In it, Yassine El Hajoui provides a clear and accessible presentation of the computable general equilibrium model, enabling beginners to build their own model. The book begins with a simple 2x1x1 partial equilibrium model and progressively adds, at each stage, a new behavior, agent, or market, ultimately leading to a complex general equilibrium model representing an open economy with government, savings, and investment (EFAGSI), suitable for the analysis of real-world cases.
