Abstract:
Automation and artificial intelligence are redistributing tasks while increasing the value of responsible judgment. This article develops an integrated framework for teaching, assessing, and validating critical thinking in business education. It connects skills, dispositions, metacognition, argument mapping, explicit instruction, authentic assessment, Kantian ethics, and organizational risk governance. The proposed mixed-methods design, authentic assessment protocol, weighted rubric, reliability process, transfer assessment, and nine-level strategic impact framework—conceptually aligned with ISO 31000:2018—make the proposal both researchable and implementable. Applications to algorithmic hiring, supply chains, and responsible AI governance show how analytical quality, ethical legitimacy, and risk treatment can be assessed together without reducing rights to aggregate utility. Manuscript overview. This manuscript develops an integrated approach to assessing critical thinking and ethics in business education. It defines the conceptual foundations, proposes a mixed-methods validation design, operationalizes authentic assessment through rubrics and reliability procedures, and applies the model to algorithmic hiring, supply chains, responsible AI, finance, marketing, accounting, entrepreneurship, and workforce analytics.
