Les indicateurs de protection de l'emploi

Working Papers from HAL
Abstract:
The assessment of the impact of labour law in general, of employment law in particular, on the labour market performance is very frequently grounded on employment protection indicators. The most used is the OECD "employment protection legislation" synthetic index. The article focuses of three indicators, namely those set-up by some scholars (Botero and al.) and multilateral institutions (Doing Business Project of the World Bank and OECD). The articles scrutinize the issues of what indicators measure and, conversely, what they do not measure. The enforcement of employment law appears as a key issue.
