Abstract:
This paper provides a review of developing country compliance with international agro-food standards. After an overview of the recent evolution of agro food trade, the article describes the existing official and private standards, then reviews the various experiences of developing countries in responding to emerging changes in standards in agro-food markets such as fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, and animal products and finally draws up some key lessons.
