Abstract:
The Queen Elisabeth Competition is a renowned international music competition that identifies and promotes exceptional classical musicians. With three rounds, the competition evaluates candidates through both numerical scores and approval votes by a panel of judges. The rule of the competition include three main correction mechanisms starting from the candidates averages: conflict of interest rules, elimination of outlier scores, and tie-breaking processes. This paper studies these mechanisms and compares the actual rule with alternative methods like the k-Borda and Bloc methods.
