Abstract:
"This report documents the implementation of a bridging strategy for all industry classifications (WZ73, WZ93, WZ03 and WZ08) which are available in the BeH (Beschäftigtenhistorik of the IAB). The classification codes are imputed for all years in which they are missing and available (upon request) from the IAB department DIM as additional BeH feature. Note that they are currently not available for data sets distributed by the FDZ. The imputation procedure combines extrapolation, deterministic, and stochastic imputation algorithms using CART models. We summarise the different imputation procedures and discuss strategies how to properly take the extra uncertainty from imputation into account. We also explain how to work with the imputed industry classifications in a separate quickstart section." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
