Abstract: "The third edition of the Arbeitsmarktspiegel describes important developments on the German labour market since the introduction of the minimum wage in Germany with latest data until June 2016. Overall employment shows a continuous increase one and a half years after the introduction of the minimum wage. The number of marginal employees decreases considerably with the introduction of the minimum wage, with a continuing declining trend during 2015. At the end of 2015 the number stabilises at a lower level compared to the previous year. For employees who switched from marginal employment to employment covered by social security, the third edition now shows that the majority of these employment relationships are persistent one year later. With regard to employees receiving additional benefits according to Social Code Book II - whose total number continues to decrease - the third edition of the Arbeitsmarktspiegel examines transitions to employment in more detail. Furthermore, different trends in east and west Germany are examined more closely. The first two editions of the Arbeitsmarktspiegel were released in January and October 2016. This research report represents an updated and substantially modified version." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
