Abstract: "In public debate, the willingness to work of the long-term unemployed receiving transfer payments is frequently called into question. IAB examines their motivation to work and their willingness to make concessions within the context of Unemployment Benefit II receipt. This brief report seeks to answer two central questions: How many benefit recipients are engaged in activities that are generally perceived as useful, such as child-rearing, taking care of family members, education or employment? How motivated is this group of people to end their receipt of benefits by taking up employment?" (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
