Abstract: "According to a widespread belief in modern Western societies, there is a general trend towards higher job mobility, and long-lasting employment relationships are gradually going from being the rule to being the exception. This report investigates whether this belief holds true, using data on average job durations and labour turnover rates in selected European countries over the period 1992-2008."
