Abstract: "Short-term forecasts of employment and unemployment play a central role in the IAB's range of tasks. To this, appropriate leading indicators can make a substantial contribution. Although some indicators for the German labor market exist, there is still need for a leading indicator directly signaling the development of unemployment. We close this gap and present a new, survey-based unemployment leading indicator: the IAB labor market barometer." (Authors' abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
