Abstract: "In their analysis, the authors find rising distances between home and workplace for the period from 2000 to 2014 in Germany. The commuting distance increased by 21 percent to 10,5 kilometre. With the help of geographic coordinates for place of residence and work, the authors use the exact driving distances to analyze commuting within and between cities and regions."
