Abstract:
"Faced with a shortage of skilled workers, many industries use apprenticeship training as an important tool to meet their demand for skilled workers. However, establishments in Germany have been experiencing increasing problems in filling their training positions for several years. This development has intensified during the Corona crisis. Based on current data from the IAB Establishment Panel, the authors examine how these problems as well as the training eligibility and the participation of establishments in providing training have developed since 2010."
