Abstract:
"In this study, the quality of employment is examined on the basis of the Saxon landscape of employment forms as well as the consideration of further aspects of human capital with significance for the quality of employment. The analysis of the landscape of employment forms includes the extent and development of full-time employment, self-employment and atypical employment forms. Starting from an already lower proportion of atypically employed persons in Saxony, the decline for atypical forms of employment as a whole and for the employment forms of exclusively marginal employment, part-time work under 20 working hours per week and fixed-term employment in particular was much stronger than in Germany. The growth in temporary employment in Saxony was well below average. In connection with the slightly increasing share of full-time employees, the Saxon labour market is showing a trend away from atypical forms of employment. In order to meet individual needs beyond the form of employment, wage developments and individual further aspects of employment quality were also taken into consideration. The low wage incidence can be classified as declining for Saxony. Furthermore, employment relationships in Saxony are considered to be more stable on average than in Germany and more often provide adequate training." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
